My Story

Based in Tulsa, OK, Susan Cram began experimenting with found objects near the end of Covid, having wished she'd started SOONER to take advantage of all that isolating downtime! Fully self-taught but gratefully encouraged by a few local artists, she now describes her work as a healthy obsession. Working primarily with secondhand jewelry and other found objects as tesserae, it took a few years to build up an inventory of jewelry, shells, tiles, chains, even belt buckles along with an enormous amount of supplemental beads of all types and sizes. She is in constant thrift store and estate sale shopping mode when not busy creating.

Before embracing art fulltime Susan built a career in IT sales and entrepreneurial ventures. She lived much of her adult life in Colorado before being drawn to Tulsa's exciting music scene where she has hosted her Tulsa Time House Concerts series for over a decade. She welcomes touring national and regional acts as well as Tulsa's finest talent into her living room and backyard venues.

Susan's art has appeared in some of Tulsa's finest art galleries, including Royce Myer's Gallery and Contemporary Arts of Tulsa, exhibitions and events such as Living Art's Champagne and Chocolate, Tulsa and Oklahoma City Artini's, and donated often to fundraisers for the arts and animal welfare.

"Susan’s work demonstrates not only exceptional craftsmanship, but also a fearless imagination. Seeing artistic possibilities in materials that others might overlook, she then transforms them into sophisticated, expressive pieces with incredible attention to detail. Susan brings creativity, dedication, and a unique perspective to everything she creates"
